The consideration of sustainability issues forms an intrinsic part of the option appraisal process of the Mersey Tidal Power project, and ensures that sustainability is embedded in the development of scheme design. This process allows for the consideration of economic, social and environmental factors to be undertaken for each of the scheme variants under consideration in an integrated way.

This report provides a summary of the findings of the sustainability appraisal of three scheme variants at Stage 3.
